DETERMINATION OF PRECEDING CHEMICAL STEP IN THE ELECTRODIC PROCESS OF BRIGHT SILVER ELECTROPLATING IN AMMONIANICOTINIC ACID BATH
Zhou Hougxun Wang Haijiang In our previous paper.We have demonstrated that in the Ammonia-NicotinicAcid bright Silver electroplating bath Ag is mainly Ag )_ ~+ in bulk Solution andAg H_ NO_a)_a on the surface of the electrode when it discharges.The differenceshows that a preceding chemical reaction must exist.This can be homogeneous or heterogeneous.Experments of Chronopotential curve measurement and measurement ofpolarization curve on rotating dise electrode negated the existance of homogeneouspreceding chemical reaction.Hence;a conclusion is achieved that a heterogeneouspreceding chemical reaction must exist.Analyses to the polarization carve on RDEfurther demonstrated the above conclusion and the effects of the existance of theheterogeneous preceding chemical reaction on whole electrode process have been dis-cussed
