DETECTION OF IRON-RELATED POTEIN RECEPTOR ON HUMAN PLACENTAL MICROVILLOUS MEMBRANE

(the department of pediatrnical hematology and oncology; west china university of medical science).to explore the iron-related protein receptor including ferritin receptor (fur) andtransferrin receptor (tfr) changes on human placentol microoillous membsane of nosmalpseguent women and pregnant women with ison deficiency anemia (mlda); in the sametime; to explose the role of fur.tfr in the maternal-fetal ison metaboliem. using the human placental microvillous membrane protein was isolated by differential centrifugation; thefur and tfr were detected by receptor radioligand assay. results showed placental furand tfr of 25 full-term pregnant women were determined. the fur expression in normalpregnant women (11 cases ) was (3. 5341 1. 105 ) 10sites/mg. pro; with an associationconstant (ka) (2. 203 0. 622) 10/l mol/-1; l; the tfr expression in normal pregnantwomen (11 cases) was (4. 057 1. 320) 10/l sites/mg. pro; with an ka (1. 622 0. 584) 10/l mol-1. l; while in pregnant women with mida (14 cases); the fur expression was(8.936 2. 407) 10 sites/mg. pro; being 2. 53-fold that of normal; with a ka (1. 249 0. 365) 10mol-1. l; the tfr expression was (6.984 1. 754) 1012 sites/mg. pro; being 1.72-fold that of normal; with an ka of (1. 541 0. 749) 108mol-1. l. thenefore the expression of fur and tfr on placenta were increased in the same time when pregnant womenwith mlda; it indicated that the placenta is able to gain a lot of iron by increasing the furand tfr expression to maintain the iron relatively stableness of fetus. the ka of fur inpregnant women with mida was lower than that of normal; perhaps the fnr structure waschanged in mida.
