The Global Times is a daily newspaper produced under the auspices of the official Chinese Communist Party newspaper, the People's Daily, the Communist Party’s official mouthpiece, focusing on international issues and foreign affairs.
With publication started in January 1993, the current circulation is over 2 million, with more than 500 correspondents and journalists throughout the world. The Global Times has been devoting itself to the mission to show Chinese readers how they are tightly connected to global affairs and to introduce an exuberant and intricate China to the world as well, attracting a strongly nationalistic readership.
